Growing TOO Fast

Although the challenge of raising two strong-willed children is...well, just that a challenge, I've managed to capture some exciting sweet moments recently. First off, Jacob wrote his name ALL by himself!! I was so proud of him and have showed everyone that I can.

Jacob has been doing such a great job at his baseball games that his coach awarded him with the game ball at Friday's (April 24th) game. He was so proud of himself as were we of him!!

Kinley has been a little more difficult lately, so she doesn't really have many wonderful things to post. She is currently getting over a sinus infection and bronchitis. While I hated that she was sick, we had some great low-key movie days. Kinley was such a champ at the doctor visit and, for one of the first times, was very cooperative! We did manage to squeeze in some outside time and Kinley enjoyed playing with the bubbles!

We are down to less than a week before our move to Cumming. We had our last Sunday at our church today, which was very emotional for me. Lots of mixed emotions, but a definite sadness to leave our loving church family!! We will miss them greatly!!! I'll leave you with a picture that I wish I saw more often, but I was glad that I had a chance to capture this precious sibling moment!

Baseball or Bust

We (meaning I) decided to sign Jacob up for pre T- Ball this year. Nathan was unsure if he was ready and if he would understand all of the concepts that they were trying to teach. After talking to his coach, he said that the objective of this age is to teach them how to run the bases in the correct order. How hard can that be? Well, it wasn't. It's the "don't lay in the grass", "pay attention", and "put your glove on" that are the hard things to teach, although they are coming around.

The season has gotten off to a rocky (or should I say rainy) start. The season should technically be over by now, but with all of the rain, we are only at the beginning! Jacob and his cousin Billy are on the same team and, lucky for us, Aunt Gerie is helping coach!

Jacob has done so well in all of his games!! Tonight he got two great hits, scored two runs, and even got a runner out at third!! Each game he, as well as his teammates, get more into the game and become more confidant. We are so proud of him!! GO INDIANS!!

Boring...Maybe not?!

I've recently wanted to start a blog, mainly to help me record all of the things that we do, but have kept pushing the thought aside because I thought it would be boring for others to read. I've become a night owl lately and have had some free time after everyone goes to bed and so tonight I decided to take the plunge! I realize that this blog may not be of interest to anyone but me, but at the same time, I like the fact that my life, which seems boring at times, is full of excitement in its own way. With two kids, ages 3 and 18 months, moving back in with my parents (for the second time), preparing myself for a move (3rd move in 7 years)and attempting to train for a marathon (which will be a miracle if I even have 5 seconds to get on the treadmill)...life is getting pretty crazy!! So, we'll see how often the blog updates happen, or if this will be a one-hit wonder.
